Film Restoration
Criterion are brilliant. They take classic films, masterpieces often, and make them even better by improving the quality of the original image and sound and package it up in original artwork, all handled with love and care.
But how does someone 'restore' a film ready for DVD or Blu-Ray release? What does it mean? What else is involved? What goes into deciding what image is used on a front cover of a DVD?
